Bruce Williams

Bruce graduated from Kent Institute of Art & Design at Canterbury in 1990, and spent almost twenty years as a mural artist and set painter working within the film industry and BBC. He now paints full time and holds Masterclasses on his approach.

Bruce has exhibited extensively, and is the recipient of numerous awards. His work has been curated into Royal Academy Summer Shows (2015, 2014): Royal Society of Marine Artists (2017, 2016, 2015): New English Arts Club, Mall Galleries (2017): Discerning Eye (2015, 2012) and at London galleries including The Riverside Gallery, Thomson’s Gallery, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters,  Square Gallery and more.

He has received awards including The Russell & Chapple Prize, RSMA (2016): Winsor and Newton Best Painting RSMA and Winsor and Newton Best Non Member Painting ROI (both 2015): Building Design Award, London Borough of Bromley (2003): Best Stand, Top Draw, Earls Court (2002): Direct Support Grant, South East Arts (1994): Arts Purchase Prize, South East Arts (1991): Winsor and Newton Painting Prize (1990): Canterbury College Mural Prize (1989), etc.

Bruce now owns the Bruce Williams Art Gallery on Whitstable, Kent’s High Street and has an ongoing exhibition of his own and guest artists’s work there throughout the year. You can find out more about him on website here.

A mini-documentary featuring Bruce Williams, a renowned seascape artist based in Whitstable, Kent. From when Bruce painted, exhibited and sold his oil paintings at Keam's Yard, a small studio that was based right on the beach in Whitstable, Kent. A short film to illustrate the influence the sea has over a thriving local arts and crafts scene and discover one of its most recognised artists, Bruce Williams.
