Tracy davidson

‘My work is informed by memories of my childhood. My violent father was constantly in and out of prison, which affected my family in many adverse ways. When he was home, we felt like we were treading on eggshells as he had a volatile temper. I was always very self-conscious due to my scuffed shoes and old second-hand clothes. I use vintage textiles and clothing from the 60’s and 70’s as a way of reflecting the era I grew up in. I use embroidery as a means of stitching my history and trying to make sense of it.’

We are delighted to have Tracy as part of our Contemporary Kent Artists exhibition at The Horsebridge Arts Gallery the 7th - 19th of October 2026.
