ParI aazami

Born in Iran, Pari Aazami left as a child during the 1978 Iranian Revolution to come to the UK. She recently retired after a career in dentistry to pursue her lifelong passions of photography and painting.

Aazami’s inspiration almost always comes from nature, which draws her in with its varying colour combinations, forms and movements. She combines he two greatest passions, photography and art, to create something that is truly organic and unique. The series she is currently working on has allowed her to combine both disciplines

Aazami uses photography, texture, and metal leaf, to explore the space between observation and memory, and how seeing is continually shaped by experience, perception, and time. Her work begins with details from the natural world, such as overlooked forms such as lichen, stone, and trees. Through layering and transformation. Like Borges’ “museum of shifting shapes”, the imagery is never fixed. It evolves through the viewer’s own memories and associations. The notion of a “pile of broken mirrors” is equally significant. Rather than presenting a single truth, Aazami wants to reveal fragments and perspectives, that interpret both nature and ourselves.

We are delighted to have Pari as part of our Contemporary Kent Artists exhibition at The Horsebridge Arts Gallery the 8th - 18th of October 2026.
