Louisa Peacock

‘Created in direct response to Jorge Luis Borges’ description of memory as “a chimerical museum of shifting shapes, a pile of broken mirrors,” this series uses suspended dried flowers photographed in states of collapse and fragmentation to explore memory as something unstable: preserved yet altered, recognisable yet incomplete. Some elements remain visible while others drift into shadow or ambiguity, echoing the way memory shifts over time — surfacing with clarity in one moment before becoming distorted, inaccessible or lost in the next. Underlying the work is a quiet reflection on grief and absence, though not illustrated directly. Instead, the series approaches loss obliquely, through fragmentation, instability and the tension between what remains and what can no longer be fully recovered.’
