‘My practice is driven by my interest in narrative space and desire to create worlds within worlds. I construct architectural interiors and external environments within which figures emerge and stories unfold. Seeking to manipulate pictorial space, my intention is to create an immersive experience where the viewer’s imagination unfurls. The exhibition theme resonates because it relates to my current work inspired by the Model House, a timber, scale-model commissioned by Eve Penn of a 1970s post-modern social housing project in London, designed by Dixon Jones Architects. The house has become a framework through which personal memories and recollections have surfaced indirectly and unexpectedly. ‘Find Me in the Mirror’ features the house inhabited by echoes of figures and Sarah’s own reflection. It refers not only to the artist, but the way our memories of the people and places we love and have loved are reflected within.’
